Our Counselors

The Pet Camp family’s first and foremost goal is caring for our pet campers. It’s simple, we have two mandatory requirements when hiring a Pet Camp counselor:

The pet counselor loves pets and is good with dogs and cats
The pet counselor has a pet of their own

We teach Pet Camp’s counselors about our standards for pet care and to treat every camper like their own. We are grateful to our Pet Camp counselors as they help us be the best pet care facility in San Francisco.

Hobbies outside of Pet Camp!
Anything to do with Magoo; he's my best friend! Also walking/jogging for fitness and fun, reading, enjoying anything true-crime related (books, podcasts, documentaries, etc)

Favorite thing about Pet Camp!
What I love most about Pet Camp is how much value is placed on the people who work here. We're not just employees but actual people with life experiences and backgrounds that are appreciated and respected, no matter how different or "out there" they might be. As the longest running counselor at Pet Camp, I can honestly say that this place is my 2nd home and my 2nd family. Like with any family, even though things haven't always been rosy, I have always felt loved (and will always return it in kind).

Favorite thing about Pet Camp!
I love working at Pet Camp because anytime that I'm having a rough time outside of work I look forward to seeing all my campers, and I always feel better as soon as I clock in. It's definitely a workout at Pet Camp, but I love it. All of my coworkers turned into my friends, and we all are one big family. And I love that.

Hobbies outside of Pet Camp!
I spend all my free time hanging at McClaren Park with my dogs and outdoor cat or exploring the city with my friends! I enjoy finding all the dog friendy restaurants.

Favorite thing about Pet Camp!
The thing I love most about Pet Camp is the variety of toys and tools available to keep dogs happy and active. I also love the Savannah's wide, open spacing and nature, seeing the dogs interact with the birds and butterflies.

Favorite thing about Pet Camp!
I like my coworkers the most. I’ve never had a job before where everyone was so welcoming and very alike to me. I also love dogs a lot so it’s almost like free therapy coming to work and being with animals all day. I also like that I can bring my dog with me. Makes my life a lot easier.

I spend my free time playing games (PC, TTRPG, board, you name it!), gardening, and creating digital art. I also love to spend time in the numerous museums around the Bay Area.

Favorite thing about Pet Camp!
Pet Camp is a really supportive environment! I was fairly specialized in my dog experience and through the support of everyone here I've really learned a lot! And the dogs of course. 🙂
