Yeah, yeah, we know: corny and obvious. But hey, we’re dog people, not stand-up comics.
So you finally got the last kid into all-day kindergarten, and the older ones are so glued to that smartphone you swore you wouldn’t buy them that you’re wondering… what to do with all this glorious free time?
“Maybe I should finally train the dog,” you think.
No, no you don’t.
What you really think is: “Finally, peace and quiet. No way I’m wasting it teaching my dog to sit. Doesn’t Pet Camp offer training?”
Why yes, yes we do! In fact, we offer two levels of dog training: Camper Cadet Level 1 and (wait for it…) Level 2.
Two Levels of Camper Cadet Dog Training
Camper Cadet Level 1:
The basics. The doggy kindergarten you wish your toddler attended. We cover:
- Sit
- Down
- Touch
- Name recognition (you know, that thing your teen refuses to do when you call)
- Loose leash walking (aka “not dragging you down the block like a sled dog”)
Teaching your dog these skills will set up a strong foundation for growing into a well-mannered urban pup.
Camper Cadets Level 2:
Advanced coursework. Think Calculus 2 for overachieving pups:
- Stay
- Recall (aka “Come here NOW! Not after sniffing that one last thing”)
- Polite human greetings (no jumping… and definitely no curtsying)
- Take It, Drop It, Leave It (despite how enticing that food wrapper on the sidewalk is)
- Intermediate leash walking (gracefully strolling at your side, like a proper companion – not your personal fitness trainer)
Taking the foundations learned in Camper Cadet Level 1 and focusing on more advanced skills that support real-life manners and responsiveness.
Not sure your dog is ready?
Really? Be honest, don’t you wish that toddler was picking up their toys or that teenager was… doing anything useful? Even if your human kids aren’t ready to make your life easier, trust us: your dog is.
It’s never too early — or too late — to teach your dog good manners. Let’s crush this school year.
