Pet Camp to the Rescue AGAIN – The Delaware Sequel!

Fresh off saving the American economy a billion dollars a year, Pet Camp is back in its Underdog role—this time swooping in to rescue Delaware dog parents from potentially massive daily fines. How massive? Well, if we borrow from Europe, try $579 a day or $211,335 a year per pet parent.
Here’s what’s going on.

PETA (no, not People Eating Tasty Animals—the other PETA: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has submitted a proposal to Delaware lawmakers requiring pet parents to walk their dogs at least three times a day, including one walk of at least an hour, or face penalties.

To be fair, PETA makes valid points: “regular walks give dogs necessary bathroom breaks (no steel bladders here), support healthy weight, reduce illness risk, and provide critical mental stimulation to prevent boredom, depression, and anxiety.”

But here’s the kicker: while the proposal doesn’t list the exact fine, PETA highlights that a similar rule exists in Turin, Italy—where noncompliance can cost up to 500 euros daily (roughly $579). Yikes.

Delaware Pet Parents, Don’t Panic – Pet Camp Has You Covered

We’re confident that PETA will agree:

  • A day of play at Pet Camp’s Main Campgroundor
  • Four enrichment sessions at the Ranger Station

…would easily meet (or surpass!) the spirit of these dog-walk requirements.

So, if you’re worried about what this proposal means for your future, you’ve got two clear options:

  1. Send Mark a check for a couple million dollars (multiple smaller checks also graciously accepted), and he’ll open Pet Camp Delaware.
  2. Leave that tiny state and move to San Francisco, where your dog can enjoy Pet Camp without fear of international-level fines.

In All Seriousness…

We truly appreciate PETA – and possibly the Delaware State Legislature – for giving us a legislative proposal that makes San Francisco regulations look positively reasonable.

Thanks for reading.
