Already Broke Your New Year’s Resolution? At Least Keep Your Dog’s.

New Year’s Resolutions? Pet Camp Can Help!

Since you’re reading this sometime after January 9th, the odds are you’ve already broken your New Year’s resolution(s) – I made it all the way to January 2nd (ok, the afternoon of January 1st this year) so don’t feel bad about making it to the 9th.

That daily workout?
The perfectly planned training schedule?
Cooking every meal from scratch?
Less coffee?
Less alcohol?
Less swearing?

I mean come on – it’s New Years not Lent!

We know, things happen.  But just because you needed to “pivot?” on your goals, doesn’t mean your dog does too!  Pet Camp may not be your accountability partner – but we might be able to be your dog’s.

You Meant Well (We All Do)

At the start of the year, you promised your dog that there would be:

  • More exercise
  • Attention to training and manners
  • Learning new tricks
  • More enrichment

These are amazing resolutions – but how are you and your dog going to keep them?  It’s raining, it’s cold, MUNI is running late (hey, at least it’s running unlike BART) – do you really have the time and energy for all of this?

Dogs Thrive on Consistency — Not Guilt

Maybe you can guilt yourself into keeping up with a week or two of New Year’s resolutions, but you can’t guilt your dog and a week or two simply doesn’t cut it to a dog.  Your dog needs consistency to thrive!

We get dogs and can be there even when you’re struggling!

More Exercise: We’ve got you covered (figuratively and literally). The Savannah lets your dog play outside with all sorts of dogs while our glass retractable roof lets your dog stay warm and dry all while romping about.

Attention to Training and Manners: Camper Cadets Levels 1 and 2 will give your dog 12 skills all focused on urban manners and life in a hectic city.

Learning New Tricks: Pet Camp’s trick of the month is perfect for this New Year’s resolution.  Every month your dog will learn a new trick, you’ll get a really cool button to show all your friends and when your dog learns all 12 tricks your dog gets a diploma!  Talk about resolution validation!

More Enrichment: We can’t get you to go to the museums more often or a lecture at the Common Wealth Club (if you go, say hi to Mark’s dad who we hear is always there), but we can get your dog to the Ranger Station (really, on the Pet Camp Express) where your dog can be enriched with a scent/treat wall, a maze, fun-gility, our amazing overlook play area, and of course our 3 sensory gardens.

Keep One Resolution That Actually Matters

If your personal resolutions didn’t survive past mid-January, don’t beat yourself up. You’re only human – but your dog isn’t.

But your dog still deserves:

  • A body that’s exercised
  • A brain that’s engaged
  • A routine they can count on

Let us help you keep their resolutions – even when yours slip a little (or a lot).

Because honestly? Your dog will thank you long after the gym stops asking where you’ve been.
