 Once upon a time, we — Virginia Donohue and Mark Klaiman — had 9-to-5 careers. But our fantasy was to create an environment where we could bring our dogs to work every day – to re-create the fun of a neighborhood dog park, where it's always doggy social hour.
We set up camp in May 1997. We've made lots of improvements along the way and still make our decisions the same way: What would our pets like? That's led us to do some things that might seem wacky — like importing a dog pool from England or installing $70,000 of grassy play yards — but our campers love it! So do their people.
Our latest fantasy-come-true is Pet Camp’s Cat Safari. We wanted to create an experience that let cats do what they love, but usually don’t get to do: go outside. Cat Safari, our just-for-cats adventure, features Safari Gardens that give your cat a taste of the jungle while safely in our care.
It's been an awesome journey. We are grateful to our camp counselors, our campers and our campers’ parents who allow us the privilege of caring for their dogs and cats. When you have to be away from them, we invite you to come to Pet Camp, where pets do what pets love®.
